BIOS

JOANN FORTIER

Joann Fortier was recently appointed Warden of the NH State Prison for Women, serving as acting Warden since February of 2007. Warden Fortier is a twenty-one year veteran of the Department of Corrections with experience in both a prison environment and in Probation/Parole. Prior to her February assignment she had served as Director of the Division of Community Corrections since December 2000.

 

JUDGE ROBERT LYNN

The Honorable Robert J. Lynn is Chief Justice of the NH Superior Court. He was appointed to the bench in 1992 after a career that took him across New England , New York and Pennsylvania . He earned his B.A. from the University of New Haven in 1971 and his law degree from the University of Connecticut School of Law in 1975. His previous legal employment includes: U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration; Law Clerk for the Hon. J. William Ditter, Jr., U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Penn.; Organized Crime Strike Force Special Attorney, Eastern District of NY; U.S. Attorney, District of NH; Associate and Partner, Cleveland, Waters & Bass; Of Counsel and Director, McSwiney, Jones, Semple & Douglas; Assistant U.S. Attorney, Special Prosecutions Unit, District of Conn.; Assistant U.S. Attorney, District of Mass.; Chief and New England Coordinator, Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force. He is an adjunct faculty member for the Massachusetts School of Law, and prior to that was an instructor at the Attorney General's Advocacy Institute in Washington , DC . Judge Lynn is a member of the NHBA's Committee on Cooperation With the Courts and past member of many bar committees including the Continuing Legal Education Committee. He is the author of numerous published works and is the recipient of many academic awards.

 

COMMISSIONER WILLIAM WRENN

William L. Wrenn was appointed Commissioner of the New Hampshire Department of Corrections in December 2005.

Commissioner Wrenn's law enforcement career spans more than thirty years, all of that with the Hampton , New Hampshire , Police Department. He served as the town's police chief from February 1995 until his appointment to NHDOC.

Currently serving as vice chairman of the New Hampshire Police Standards and Training Council, the Commissioner has been a member of the council for several years. He is the Former Chairman of the New Hampshire Association of Chiefs of Police Legislative Committee and a former President of the organization. He has also served as a member of the New Hampshire Judicial Selection Committee, the FBI National Academy Associates, International Association of Chiefs of Police, and the Rockingham County Association of Chiefs of Police. Commissioner Wrenn has also taught Criminal Justice as an adjunct faculty member at Hesser College .

Awarded a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement from Northeastern University and an Associates of Science from Northern Essex Community College , the Commissioner received a Juris Doctorate from the Massachusetts School of Law. He is also a graduate of the New Hampshire Police Academy and the FBI National Academy .

Commissioner Wrenn resides in Hampton with his family.
