- To understand the governance structure in the State of New Hampshire.
- To examine the role of leadership in the political process.
- To examine your current and future involvement in the political process.
- To meet some of the key State political leaders.
- To talk with political representatives and learn more about their views on political involvement and leadership.
ASSIGNMENT
Prior to the session, please complete the following:
1. Select a legislator, lobbyist, State Agency employee or an Executive Council member to shadow for all or part of a day. You will be responsible for contacting the individual and arranging for the shadowing. The length of time is up to you and the individual you will be following. Please allow enough time to not only sit and chat with them, but to watch them "in action" at the State House, legislative committee or in their home district.
2. Familiarize yourself with The New Hampshire General Court. Go to www.gencourt.state.nh.us and read about the NH House of Representatives and the NH Senate.
