Miriam Carter has worked for nearly 30 years as a self-employed artist, and enjoys a national reputation and market for her groundbreaking work with fiber. She honed her organizational management skills as director of a professional ski school in southern New Hampshire, employing 85 staff members and overseeing program development, staff training, pre-season promotion and fundraising.
In more than a decade as a juried member of the League, Miriam has served on the Fair Committee, as chair of the Juried Member Advisory Board and a member of the Executive Committee. She co-authored the first 360º Assessment of the League and assumed the role of Executive Director in January 2017. Under her tenure the League has engaged new supporters, updated operational infrastructure, and turned around a recent history of operating deficits. Her current participation in Leadership New Hampshire is further developing her leadership skills and connecting the League with statewide resources and networks.
