The LNH Living Room Chats - Chat 17
Wednesday, March 26th,
2008 - 6:00pm
Carol Walker Aten's Living Room, 40 Lincoln Street, Exeter, NH
" Out of
Kilter: The Growing Income Gap in NH "
New
Hampshire has the 6th highest median income in the country, but
the gap between rich and poor is growing faster than any other
state in the nation. Income trends vary by region,
gender, family, and race; in many areas, household incomes have
not kept pace with costs of basic needs such as housing.
These
trends threaten the fabric of public life. Come for a straight
forward discussion of the data and the implications for our state.
Presenters:
Katie
Merrow, Executive. Director, New Hampshire Women's Policy Institute
Senator Maggie Hassan, Chair of Public and Municipal
Affairs and Capital Budget Committees
