Developed in 1992, Leadership New Hampshire (LNH) was created in response to recommendations from the Governor's Commission on the 21st century to "identify emerging talent; motivate emerging leaders concerning statewide issues and perspectives; build the expectation that they will take on leadership roles on statewide issues; and develop a network for effective leadership."
Nearly two decades later, LNH has inspired, educated, and engaged over 550 citizens to leverage the unique opportunities, and to understand the specific issues facing the Granite State. Through a unique year-long educational program, Associates interact with top state officials, judges, educators, prison inmates, students, artists, corporate leaders and others who receive, deliver or make decisions and policy that affect services across the state.
Graduates of the LNH Program include established and emerging leaders from across the state with a wide range of backgrounds, professional skills, interests, geographical locations, and ages. The result is a statewide community of diverse and active leaders, working hand in hand to improve the daily lives of our neighbors, strengthen our businesses, shape our policies and positively impact our future.
LNH is a not for profit organization. View LNH 990 Form.
The LNH experience broadens each Associate's perspective by providing a deeper understanding of the issues facing the state. Associates build connections with fellow classmates and policy makers as they explore shaping solutions to the challenges of today.
LNH benefits and enriches the lives of all Associates. This invaluable program exposes each individual to events, discussions and experiences developed to help them grow as leaders and prepare to become more involved in the communities and state they are an integral part of.
LNH not only benefits our Associates, but also their organizations, by providing a statewide perspective and connections to policy makers. While completing the program, Associates and their organizations are linked to a diverse group of emerging, influential leaders of tomorrow as they help increase civic engagement. The Associates involved with the program learn valuable new skills that they are able to apply to their organizations immediately.
The state of New Hampshire benefits when emerging and engaged leaders understand the broad range of issues facing the diverse interests of New Hampshire, and have an opportunity to interact with statewide leaders who shape policy. Associates are prepared to create solutions, locally, regionally and statewide.
