Edda Cantor, Executive Director

Edda Cantor is the Executive Director of Leadership New Hampshire.
She has held this position since November of 2001.
In this capacity, she is responsible for the development
of curriculum for the session days, ongoing alumni programming,
as well as the administration of the organization. Edda
has been busy adding new program components and incorporating
learning about the most recent challenges the State faces.
Edda retired from State service in January, 2001. She was the
Assistant Commissioner for the New Hampshire Department of Corrections.
After the untimely death of the Commissioner, she was appointed
by the Governor to lead the department for nine months.
Edda has served in various capacities within the department since
1980. Edda served as the first Warden of the Women's Prison for
five years. Prior to this she was a Unit Manager, Program Administrator
and Social Worker at the New Hampshire State Prison in Concord.
Since leaving State
service Edda has been a consultant assisting in major project
implementations nationally. She has worked in the Corrections
field in New Mexico and Vermont for the American Correctional
Association and the National Institute of Corrections. She testified
as an expert witness in a Federal Court case in Michigan. Additionally,
she has been working with L3P Associates, a consulting firm specializing
in information system readiness, in Iowa.
She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology from American
University in Washington, D.C. and a Masters of Education in Counseling
from Antioch/New England Graduate School in Keene, N.H.
