Jennifer Alford-Teaster, MA, MPH Geospatial Research Project Director. Jennifer is a Geospatial Research Project Director in the Department of Biomedical Data Science (BMDS) in the Geisel School of Medicine. Jennifer earned a Bachelor’s degree in Geography followed by a Master’s degree in Applied Geography and a certificate in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG). As a mapping specialist at the Fire Department in Greensboro, North Carolina Jennifer developed a deep interest in the application of GIS to areas of health and medicine. Jennifer ultimately complimented her geography degree with a Master’s of Public Health (MPH) from the University of New Hampshire (UNH).
Jennifer is extremely hard working and is considered a steadfast optimist with the strong belief that most weakness is a strength given the proper context. Jennifer has won some professional awards in her career, but truthfully the biggest reward is that most people who have worked alongside her consider her a trusted friend.
