New Hampshire Manager of System Planning at Eversource
Russel Johnson is the New Hampshire Manager of System Planning for Eversource. He is responsible for the assessment of system adequacy and reliability and developing long term scenario-based plans for distribution system enhancements needed to meet the future needs of the electric grid. Since joining the state’s largest electric utility in 1987, Russel has held numerous positions with responsibilities that include representing the company in regulatory matters, managing the capital budget, and a central role in emergency storm response. Russel received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Clarkson University. Russel is a licensed Professional Engineer in the state of NH and participates on the board of the Center for Electric Power System Research at Clarkson University. He is a graduate of the Leadership Greater Manchester Class of 2012 and is looking forward to the opportunity the Leadership of New Hampshire program offers. Russel lives in Auburn, New Hampshire with his fiancé Cynde, their five children who are attending college, and their golden retriever. He enjoys spending time with family, cycling, hiking, and woodworking.
