James Kerouac is shareholder in the law firm Bernstein Shur, practicing in the firm’s Manchester office. Jim is an experienced transactional lawyer, whose practice focuses on complex commercial real estate and lending transactions. Jim is recognized by Martindale-Hubble with an AV Preeminent Peer Review Rating, has been ranked in Chambers USA for Real Estate and is listed in The Best Lawyers in America for Real Estate Law and Commercial Transactions/UCC. Jim holds undergraduate degrees in Philosophy and Biology from the University of New Hampshire and a juris doctor degree from Boston University School of Law. Jim has a passion for community service. He is currently a member of the board of directors of Animal Rescue League of New Hampshire and serves as the Vice Chair of the board. He has long served on the Campaign for Legal Services Leadership Council. He was appointed by the New Hampshire Supreme Court to serve on the Court’s Access to Justice Commission. Jim previously served for more than a decade as a board member on the boards of New Hampshire Legal Assistance and the Legal Advice and Referral Center, including service in numerous officer positions, eventually serving as the chair of the boards for a three year term. In the past, Jim served on the boards of In Town Manchester and High Hopes Foundation of New Hampshire. Jim lives in Concord with his wife, Margie, and his daughter, Madeline. He spends most of his free time chasing his toddler and dogs around.
